Overview
While managing the Computational Computer Vision (CV) design team, we oversaw the development & design of Microsoft Seeing AI - an intelligent iOS app for the visually impaired that transforms the visual world into an audible experience. Our team was part of the Intelligent Inputs group within Microsoft Research (MSR), and we worked with some fabulous Microsoft researchers to push the boundaries of CV to enable an app that has been used by millions of individuals.
Seeing AI is a free app that narrates the world around you. Designed for the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world and describe nearby people, text and objects. Seeing AI demonstrates how technology can make the world more inclusive.
